Most people think that in order to get their body fat percentage down into the single digits and sport a toned six-pack of abs they need to do lots of cardio. It may be the conventional wisdom... but it's a pile of horse dooky!

In fact, long boring cardio sessions are one of the worst things you can do when you are trying to get ripped abs. That's right, if you are spending hours on the treadmill plugging away, chances are you'll never get a six-pack. Here's why:

1) Long steady state cardio session are a huge waste of the time you spend in the gym. Look, if you're morbidly obese, then low impact cardio is going to be one of the only options you have for working out, and it will help you lose some of your weight when combined with a healthy diet. But, if that's the case you are a ways away from thinking about getting ripped abs. If you're less than a hundred pounds overweight, you have a number of far better options for ways to work out.

2) Cardio alone is never enough. In order to drop weight you need to create a calorie deficit, which means you burn more calories than you take in. While its true that you can burn a few hundred calories per day bouncing around on an elliptical machine, you need to make sure that you don't compensate for the extra calories you burned by eating an extra slice or two of pizza afterwards.

3) Long cardio session don't produce the necessary hormones to give you a six pack. In order turn your body into a powerful furnace that burns it's own fat, you need to trigger specific hormonal changes, like increasing HGH and testosterone (don't worry ladies, this won't make you sprout a mustache.) This can only be accomplished by making dietary changes and using a targeted exercise strategy.

If you've always wanted a ripped six-pack of abs, then this article is for you. I'm going to show you 4 super secret tricks that will help you start losing abdominal fat fast... Without ever stepping on a treadmill or eliptical machine!

Throughout my twenties, I packed on over 90 pounds of ugly, blubbery fat... Most of it around my midsection and chest. That's right, by 27 I was 270 lbs. with a pair of man-boobs that rivaled my girlfriend's. And then she broke up with me, she wasn't "attracted" to me anymore... Ouch!

When I finally recovered from the break-up, I realized that I needed to focus some serious energy on weight-loss.

The stupid thing was that the whole time I was packing on the weight, I was working out too! I had been in the gym 4 or 5 days a weeks, doing intensive cardio. I even tried weight loss pills, and bought a fancy ab crunch machine I saw on TV.

So, what was I supposed to do? My friends told me to do more cardio and eat less. The trainer at the gym told me to do intense weight-lifting workouts with high-reps, ARRGGHH!

Then a buddy turned me on to a program that allowed me to burn off all the fat I had put on, without doing a stitch of cardio. Here are a few of the things I learned:

1) Don't ever do crunches or sit-ups! These build up the muscle under your fat causing your stomach to GROW!

2) Don't do marathon cardio sessions. These are a complete waste of time and energy, they leave you depleted and ravenous for fattening foods.

3) Don't cut calories drastically. This will send your body into starvation mode and cause you to gain more weight than if you were eating properly.

4) Never take fat-loss pills or supplements. The vast majority of these are either a) dangerous stimulants, or b) a complete rip-off with zero fat burning properties. Either way you are far better off going the natural route.

Well, long story short, I lost the weight, got a ripped six-pack, and a new girlfriend who is way better than my old one, HA HA.
